Rev. David K. Zandt arrived at Peace Lutheran the first week of November. Having earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from UW-Milwaukee, he then continued his studies at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he earned a Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delevan, WI, in July, 2000.
Other formal studies have included theological coursework at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and through Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Pastor David has a special interest in New Testament history, philosophy (metaphysics) and Johannian Biblical studies. He is currently working to complete his Doctor of Ministry degree through the Institute of Lutheran Theology in Brookings, South Dakota, with a special emphasis in outreach and bereavement ministry.
Pastor David and his wife Kristi, and their four children (Lexie, Marissa, Noah, and Elijah) are coming to southern Alabama from Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. They are excited to begin this new chapter in their lives and service to Christ in ministry.
"Having been serving in pastoral ministry for over 18 years, I have a passion to create and sustain an environment for others to be equipped, uplifted, comforted, encouraged, empowered, and strengthened to meet both the joys and challenges of life, and to ignite within them a Spirit and joy-filled discovery of who they are in Christ to live out the "best-version-of-themselves" in daily living and interacting with others. I'm looking looking forward to serving the wonderful hearts of those at Peace Lutheran, and to begin this new and exciting opportunity to reach out to the surrounding communities of Gulf Shores and Foley with the life-changing power of Jesus!"
